To celebrate the essence of Kolkata, The Times of India partnered with us to create a culturally rooted digital campaign that reignited brand recall and strengthened audience engagement. The ask was simple: brainstorm and come up with an innovative strategy that captured the heart of Kolkata through its culture, heritage, legacy, landscapes, and seamlessly blend it with the power of social media to build a compelling, city-first narrative.

Known as the City of Joy, Kolkata is a sensory experience, felt through its art, architecture, music, poetry, cinema, and everyday moments. Our idea was to rediscover this splendor through the voices of those who know the city best: its people. By combining storytelling with Generative AI, we set out to create a campaign that reflected how Kolkata is seen, heard, and felt by its residents.
At the heart of the campaign was a simple yet powerful prompt: “You love Kolkata. Now express it in a line.”
We invited users to share what Kolkata meant to them, in their own words. To add a distinctive twist, participants were asked to submit three defining words about the city. These inputs were then transformed into personalised phrases using an AI-powered phrase generator, capturing individual emotions and perspectives.
The campaign empowered citizens to become co-creators, making Kolkata itself the hero of the narrative.
